Manchester United are reportedly close to completing a £40million move for Ajax winger Antony.
Red Devils chiefs are understood to have travelled to Amsterdam this week in order to get a deal for the Brazilian youngster over the line. Newly-appointed manager Erik ten Hag is eager to be reunited with his former player, who helped him win the Eredivisie for the second successive year last season.
The 22-year-old's stunning performances last campaign saw him notch 12 goals and 10 assists from right-wing. And Antony's excellent form has convinced the Dutch manager he is the answer to United's persistent problems on the right flank.
According to The Sun, Antony is set to become the first signing of the Ten Hag era. The manager hopes his already healthy relationship with the pacy dribbler will see him hit the ground running at Old Trafford, despite the disappointment other Eredivisie signings like Memphis Depay and Donny van de Beek have presented in the past.
The Brazilian is claimed to be the first of five potential new additions to the United squad after they suffered one of their most torrid seasons in recent history. In the meantime, the United hierarchy are still trying to land primary summer target Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.

United are yet to present the Spanish club with a new bid after their original £52million plus add-ons offer was rejected. But that is expected to come "soon", with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claiming the deal is now in its "key stages".
It comes after Red Devils CEO Richard Arnold told concerned fans on Saturday the money is there to support Ten Hag and head of football development John Murtough's rebuild this summer. It is believed the 52-year-old coach has a £200million war chest to work with, as he looks to revamp United's lacklustre squad, who could only manage a disappointing sixth place finish last season with a goal difference of zero.
