Manchester United have joined the likes of Tottenham and Juventus in tracking Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports. Vlahovic has emerged as one of Europe’s finest young marksmen in recent years and is currently among the hottest properties in world football.
The Serbian forward scored 21 goals in all competitions last season and has already found the net on 12 occasions since the beginning of the current campaign.
He will be out of contract in the summer of 2023 and does not appear to have any intention of signing fresh terms with Fiorentina.
The Italian club will now be faced with a big decision over whether to sell Vlahovic, either in January or in the summer, to avoid losing him on a free transfer in two years’ time.
A number of clubs have already been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old, with Tottenham, Juventus and Newcastle United all believed to be keen on securing his services.
Arsenal have also been keeping a close eye on Vlahovic and reportedly saw an initial approach turned down by the player himself earlier this month.

United could soon be poised to enter the race for his signature after identifying the Fiorentina man as a potential target, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Vlahovic is being watched closely by those in command at Old Trafford as they weigh up the possibility of bringing him to Manchester in the near future
The player’s agent, Darko Ristic, recently suggested that a move elsewhere could be imminent after revealing that Vlahovic previously agreed to leave Fiorentina and join another club over the summer.
“This summer we brought Fiorentina an offer of 60 million euros plus bonuses,” Ristic told reporters last month.
“There was already an agreement between us and the buying club, but [club] president [Rocco] Commisso did not want to hear reasons.
“Rocco replied to us, telling that Vlahovic is like a son to him, that he would not have sold him in any way and that he would have done everything to renew his contract.
“We have no intention of negotiating the renewal with Fiorentina, that’s why we don’t speak to you journalists or to the club.”
It seems as though Vlahovic could potentially represent United’s first signing under their new manager, who is yet to be confirmed following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday.

Michael Carrick has since been placed in temporary charge but the Red Devils are reportedly hoping to make a short-term appointment ahead of this weekend’s match against Chelsea.
Ralf Rangnick, Lucien Favre, Ernesto Valverde, Rudi Garcia and Paulo Fonseca are said to have been identified as the five standout candidates for the role.
Carrick got off to a winning start on Wednesday evening as United took all three points from Villarreal in the Champions League group stages.
He will be hoping to maintain his side’s newly-found winning momentum by putting the sword to Chelsea in their next Premier League outing on Sunday afternoon.
