Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea has finally been completed.

His first stint with did not go to plan as he was loaned out immediately to West Bromwich Albion and then Everton, before departing in 2013.

However, the 28-year-old star has refined and developed his game and he will return to Stamford Bridge as one of the top strikers in world football.

Chelsea fans, including club legend and Lukaku’s idol Didier Drogba were ecstatic with the news.

However, his return to the Premier League was not as well received by Manchester United fans, who proceeded to slate him on Twitter.

“Bottles it in big game” said one Red Devils fan.

While another added: “{He is a}Drum bag…. Heavy duty truck. Worst first touch. Can't run, can't dribble! Finished player in my book."

“Not a top striker in my books, he has a bad first touch,” another tweeted.

While a fearful fourth shared: “I feel like Lukaku came back with a personal revenge for Utd.”

Jose Mourinho signed Lukaku from Everton for £75million in the 2017-18 campaign.

Despite contributing an impressive 42 goals and 13 assists in 96 appearances for The Reds, his time at Unites is often looked back upon with disdain.

Current United manager Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer sold Lukaku to Inter Milan for £67 million in 2019.

Under the guidance of Blues manager Antonio Conte, Lukaku’s game was refined and driven to the next level.

His 24 goals and 10 assists in 34 league appearances spearheaded Inter to their first Serie A title in ten years.

However, Inter’s financial issues and Conte’s exit from the San Siro, saw Lukaku depart Italy and return to the club he supported as a boy.

Upon the announcement of his return to Chelsea, Lukaku said: "I’m happy and blessed to be back at this wonderful club.
