Manchester United fans want chief Ed Woodward to sign club legend Robin van Persie’s 13-year-old son after his incredible goal for Feyenoord’s U15 side.

The Dutchman scored 58 goals in 105 appearances for the Red Devils, arriving from Arsenal in 2012 to help them win their most recent Premier League title.

His career both started and finished at Eredivisie, retiring at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

But the van Persie presence is still being felt in Holland, with his 13-year-old son Shaqueel working up the ranks of the academy.

And footage has emerged of the youngster showing he has inherited the scoring gene in incredible style.

In the clip, the second half is well underway as the Rotterdam side lead 3-2.

The ball is floated into the penalty box from the left wing – and Shaqueel is all on his own on the far side of the box.

With the ball coming at shoulder height, the Dutch youngster lifts himself in the air to volley with the left foot.

The Ajax goalkeeper gets a hand to the ball – but he cannot stop the incredible shot flying into the top-right corner.

Van Persie, wearing the No.9 shirt, is then surrounded by his team-mates as it sends them on the way to an 8-3 win for the U15 side.

This footage was soon shared on Reddit, where the United faithful made their feelings on Van Persie Jr very clear.

“Following his father’s footsteps – sign him up,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “So when he joins us we’re calling him Red Shaq, right?”
