Manchester United have been given new hope of signing Eduardo Camavinga with Rennes reportedly resigned to losing their star midfielder in the current window. Camavinga has been a revelation at Rennes since breaking into the first team in 2019 at the age of just 16.

He played a huge role in helping the French side finish third in Ligue 1 in the 2019-20 season, qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

At 18 years of age, Camavinga is seen as one of the world’s brightest prospects and has attracted interest from all over Europe.

He has just one year left on his contract at Rennes though with the French club desperate to agree new terms.

United, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are just a few of the clubs monitoring Camavinga’s situation.

And it appears as though he could be set to move on from Rennes in the final few days of the transfer market.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Camavinga has no plans to sign an extension with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Rennes are now reportedly ‘open to selling’ the midfielder and are willing to listen to offers.

It had previously been reported that Rennes were demanding a fee in the region of £86million.

DON’T MISS

But that valuation has been drastically cut with Rennes fearful of losing Camavinga for free next summer.

It is now claimed that a bid of just £30m could be enough to seal a deal for the teenage sensation.

United have already reached out to Camavinga’s agent, Jonathan Barnet, according to recent reports in France.

Both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane have joined United this summer with an outlay of more than £110m.

But signing a midfielder appears to be a top priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Camavinga seemingly the top target.

Declan Rice is reportedly United’s preferred target due to his Premier League experience.

The West Ham star is supposedly ‘unhappy’ at West Ham though due to their £100m valuation.

And the Hammers are unlikely to drop that asking price anytime soon with three years left on Rice’s contract.
