Manchester United risk repeating the mistake they made last year in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
Reports suggest United have set their sights on bringing Sancho, 21, to Old Trafford again this summer after missing out on the England winger seven months ago.
According to The Athletic, talks between the Red Devils and Dortmund are now underway again as they look to finally conclude one of European football's most long-winded transfer sagas of the last few years.
But the German club's asking price remains the same this time around, with Sancho reportedly valued at a staggering £108million.
And that could prove a stumbling block again this summer, as it is believed United still want to try and sign him for less.
Dortmund are said to be holding out for an initial £80million fee along with around £28million in add-ons.
United's offer last year was worth a rumoured £91million, which included an initial fee of £73million.
But that was not good enough for their Bundesliga counterparts, who stuck to their guns and insisted Sancho would only be allowed to leave when their £108million asking price was met.
Should United refuse to fork out that much again, they could very well miss out on their top transfer target for the second summer in a row.
The Sun claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co are seeking a deal closer to £80million and have 'mostly agreed' personal terms with the player.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insists they will not stand in Sancho's way if the right offer comes in, however the same does not apply for other United target Erling Haaland.

Zorc told ARD: "We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions.
"He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling."
