Mason Mount escapes clear red leaving Arsenal fans furious during Chelsea game

Arsenal fans have fumed at Premier League officials after Mason Mount escaped a red card when the Gunners visited Chelsea.

Mount started for the Blues on Wednesday evening, and he was lucky to avoid a yellow card in the early stages for a high tackle. There were heated words between the pair, and Mount appeared to say: "Get the f*** up."

However, Mount was lucky to remain on the pitch after he appeared to stamp on Cedric Soares' ankle. Blues fans hit out at the incident, with one even claiming that Granit Xhaka 'would be in prison' if he had made the challenge.

"Mason Mount studs up, high on the ankle. If that were Xhaka he’d be arrested and deported," one fan fumed.

"If Granit Xhaka was Mason Mount he’d be in prison," another fan added. A third fan fumed: "Mason Mount has had two red card challenges in this game. He's got one yellow card."

While a fourth added: "Add Mason Mount to the players who have gotten away with a clear red card because the opposition was Arsenal."

Emile Smith Rowe curled the ball into the far corner with a deft touch after Chelsea hit back twice. But second half strikes from Nketiah and a penalty from Bukayo Saka pushed the game out of reach.
