The chance to play for English giants Manchester City was too good for Matildas star Hayley Raso to refuse.
Raso, who was impressive in helping the Matildas to a fourth-placed finish at the Tokyo Olympic, has left Everton to sign a two-year deal with City, who were English Women’s Super League runners-up last season to Sam Kerr’s Chelsea.
“It feels amazing – I’m just so excited to be here at this huge club,” the 26-year-old winger said.
“Being able to come to a team like City who are up there fighting for all the trophies and playing in the Champions League, it’s an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
“I feel like I can fit in well with the team’s style of play. I knew that it was definitely the place I wanted to be.”

City coach Gareth Taylor said: “We’re delighted to add Hayley to our already talented squad here at City.
“She has proven her ability and versatility … with Everton and also brings lots of international experience to the table.
“She impressed during the recent Olympic Games too and we’re really looking forward to working with her over the next few years.”
Raso won’t have to wait long to play against his former club, with Everton hosting City on the opening weekend of the new season on September 4.
