Manchester United are closing on a £40million swoop for Ajax winger Antony to kick off their summer transfer window.
The Brazilian, 22, is one of Ajax's brightest stars and played a crucial role in helping them win their second successive Eredivisie title last season. He scored 12 goals in a stunning campaign for the Dutch club, but his crowning achievement is perhaps marrying childhood sweetheart Rosilene Xavier.
Antony began dating the Brazilian when he played for Sao Paulo's youth team, where he spent nine years between 2010 and 2019. It is unknown when the couple tied the knot, though it was reportedly a private ceremony attended only by their closest friends and relatives.
The 22-year-old gave birth to a son, Lorenzo, in November 2019 and is believed to be highly family-oriented. And despite the fame that comes with her husband being a fully fledged Brazil international, Rosilene is fiercely protective of her family's privacy, unlike many other high-profile WAGs who are no strangers to the headlines.
Still, she amassed a whopping 80,000 followers on Instagram before deciding to deactivate her account. The reason behind her hiatus is unknown, though she mainly used the platform to post pictures of her 2020 Olympics-winning husband and their son.
Rosaline is expected to join Antony in moving to the UK once his transfer to United is finalised in the coming days. The winger is set to be reunited with his Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who was appointed Red Devils manager ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Antony's stunning form last season has convinced the Dutch manager that he is the answer to United's persistent problems on the right flank. And he is expected to be just one of up to five new arrivals at Old Trafford next season.
