- Gary Neville believes Manchester United should go all out to sign Harry Kane
- The pundit said he does not understand why United have not made a move

- Man City have been the frontrunners and had a £100m bid turned down
Gary Neville has questioned why Manchester United are not going all out to sign Harry Kane this summer and says the Tottenham striker would make them title contenders.
Kane has told Spurs he wants to leave the club after they failed to win a trophy or qualify for the Champions League last season but Daniel Levy is holding out for a fee of £150m.
Manchester City have been the frontrunners to sign Kane and saw a £100m bid rejected by Spurs, but Neville believes United should make a late move before the end of the transfer window.

‘I am struggling to understand why Manchester United are not going that extra step in this transfer window,’ Neville said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
‘With regards to Manchester United, they have always gone after the best player in the Premier League, the best English or British player in the Premier League, historically.
‘Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Jesse Lingard, you are talking about potentially offloading a lot of wages there, potentially getting some transfer fees in.
‘Why are they not going for Harry Kane this week? Because I believe that if Harry Kane entered Manchester United you could get up to 90 to 95 points.’
The Sky Sports pundit believes signing Kane would make United title contenders this season
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Jadon Sancho for £73m from Borussia Dortmund while Raphael Varane, who is yet to make his debut, joined from Real Madrid for £42m.
But Neville does not believe those additions are enough to win United the title this season and insists they have to bring in a centre forward of Kane’s calibre.
‘They are still going to have to replace Edinson Cavani and Martial next summer. Martial is not going to do it, Cavani has only got one year left,’ he continued.
‘They are going to have to get a centre-forward at some point, why not get the man now to give them that impetus to get towards that 95 points? Because I don’t think they can just with Sancho and Varane.
‘I believe Ole deserves another 12 to 18 months with building because Manchester United have tried the Jose Mourinho quickfire hit job and it has not worked. Louis van Gaal, going for a different style of play, it has not worked. It failed miserably.
Neville does not think the signings of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane are enough
‘So they have gone for someone who has taken it back to their roots. He has got to be given a chance to do it. Manchester United are going to need a new centre-forward in the next 12 months, the guy is available now if you pay £150m.
‘I personally think that Kane coming in would be a differentiator.’
Kane came off the bench for the final 20 minutes of Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Wolves on Sunday. Sportsmail has learned that Tottenham believe they are winning the battle to keep Kane as it emerged City’s opening offer for the striker was worth only a guaranteed £75m.
The feeling inside Tottenham is that any move for Kane is virtually impossible with Levy more determined than ever to fend off fresh advances from the Etihad.
City are expected to launch a fresh bid to land Kane this week and it remains to be seen whether meeting Spurs’ £150m valuation would suddenly alter his club’s stance.
