Pep Guardiola has overseen a series of impressive signings since joining Manchester City in 2016 – and he will be looking to repeat that success in the transfer market this summer.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has added three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and four League Cups to his bulging trophy cabinet – but missed out on Champions League glory.

With links to both Erling Haaland and Harry Kane ongoing ahead of the summer window, the club will be looking to get the right man to fire them to European glory next season.

Daily Star Sport have now picked out five of his best incoming deals since his move to Manchester five years ago, one of which was instrumental in toppling Liverpool this season.

5. Aymeric Laporte

Although Aymeric Laporte fell out of favour this season following a serious knee injury, his performances during the 2018/19 season saw him hailed at Vincent Kompany's successor.

The 27-year-old joined from Athletic Bilbao in January of 2018 for his release clause of £57m, which raised eyebrows considering his lack of silverware or international experience.

Despite that, Laporte remains in the plans of Guardiola despite recent injuries, and will be looking to impress for Spain at Euro 2020 following years of snubs from France.

4. Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker has proved to be a reliable asset for Guardiola since leaving behind Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham, going on to win three Premier League titles and five domestic cups.

The England defender made at least 29 league appearances in three of his four seasons at the club, with his price tag of an initial £45m looking like money well spent.

Although he couldn't help them to Champions League glory, Walker only recently turned 31 and will be looking to put things right over the next few seasons.

3. Ilkay Gundogan

Ilkay Gundogan stole the show for City in the Premier League this season with an impressive 13 goals from midfield, adding another four in all competitions.

That return marks his best goalscoring season by a long margin, managing 15 goals across five seasons while he played for Borussia Dortmund between 2011 and 2016.

Despite injury concerns following his £20m switch, he has been a reliable presence in midfield for Guardiola, making 46 or more appearances in each of the last four seasons.

2. Ruben Dias

Ruben Dias has exceeded all expectations since leaving Benfica for City last summer, leading them to the title and being crowned the FWA Footballer of the Year.

The 24-year-old Portugal star has proven to be the signing of the season for Guardiola, and would not be out of the question for his greatest arrival at City.

His £61m price-tag looks to be a correct valuation, and he will now put Champions League disappointment behind him to try and help Portugal retain their European Championship crown.

1. Ederson

Ederson has managed to thrive under the pressure of being Guardiola's first choice stopper in recent seasons, and is now considered to be one of the best on the planet.

The Brazilian has shown his shot-stopping and passing ability to be enough to win multiple Premier League titles, coming within touching distance of the Champions League this season.

At 27, he is set to stick around for as long as Pep does at the Etihad, with his initial fee of £40m looking another very good purchase for the Spanish tactician.
