Philippe Coutinho has teased a potential move to Arsenal by recently following several members of Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad on social media.
The Gunners-linked playmaker is on the market having fallen out of favour at Barcelona and Arsenal are one club heavily linked.
OnlineGooner.com even claimed last week that Coutinho was at the club’s London Colney training headquarters with his representatives to discuss a potential switch.
They said that Coutinho is keen on a move to Arsenal as he looks to rebuild his reputation with his stock having declined since a big-money move to Barcelona.
He cost a club-record £142million in January 2018, even reportedly paying £9m of his own money to force through his dream switch to Catalonia.
Things have not worked out in La Liga and he has spent the last 12 months on loan at Bayern Munich.
Despite producing nine goals and eight assists in 35 appearances for the Bavarians, they snubbed the option to make his move permanent for over £100m.
But Barca have no plans to reincorporate Coutinho back into their side, leaving the former Liverpool attacking midfielder in limbo.
And the 28-year-old has hinted that he could indeed be north London bound, having following the likes of Cedric Soares, David Luiz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Martinelli.
While it could be purely a coincidence, at a time when Coutinho is angling for a return to the Premier League, and amid reports of his trip to London Colney, such Twitter and Instagram activity has piqued the attention of Arsenal supporters.
Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian told talkSPORT of the South American on Thursday: “After the Champions League is finished, and whatever happens, then we’ll sit down.
“It could be that Barcelona is the ultimate destination.
“He loves the Premier League, but the finances and the numbers and the situation of COVID are going to play a big part.
“He’s a big player with big numbers.”
Arsenal are meanwhile poised to sign another of Joorabchian’s clients, winger Willian, who has left Chelsea to become a free agent.
The 32-year-old Brazilian is thought to have agreed a three-year, £100,000-a-week deal and passed a medical.
Joorabchian added: “He is a free player.
“He had a fantastic seven years at Chelsea, he’s been under various managers, he’s won multiple trophies and he has a fantastic relationship with Frank [Lampard], he respected him a lot.
“But I think that cycle had come to a moment where it’s a good moment to leave.
“At the moment, just for now I cant say where he’s going to go, for sure Arsenal are one of the contenders.
“But it wont be long before we announce it. We know where he’s going, so it won’t be long.”
