Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips has revealed how Andrea Pirlo sent him and good luck message prior to the Euro 2020 final with Italy.
World Cup and double Champions League winner Pirlo sent a video to the midfielder's Elland Road team-mate Jack Harrison, who he shared a dressing room with at MLS side New York City FC.
Harrison passed the message on to Phillips, otherwise known as the 'Yorkshire Pirlo', who was gobsmacked to receive such kind words from one of the game's all-time greats.
"Good luck in the final and all the best," Pirlo said in the video message.
Unsurprisingly, Phillips' reaction was one of complete shock.
"Oh my God. I thought he was going to say something about Italy but no, he wished me well. Full respect for that.
"I’ve seen that he’s very cool, but I’ve heard he’s a nice guy as well.
"To have someone on the other side wish you well and especially a player like that… it’s a great feeling."

Although he was missing through illness for the win over Albania, Declan Rice has formed an impressive midfield partnership with Phillips in recent months.
Like the Leeds star, Rice also started all of England's Euro 2020 matches and Phillips has even compared his Three Lions team-mate to AC Milan stalwart Gennaro Gatusso.
"I love playing with Declan," he said.

"We're two very similar players but work in different ways when we play together. Declan is almost a protector in front of the back four and I'm almost a dog that goes running after people that have got the ball."
Questioned if Rice could be compared to Gattuso, Phillips added: "You could say so! Declan is a very good player and you can see what he's done this season with West Ham, the way he's playing. He's only going to get better and I'm very happy for him."
