Premier League fans vote for best atmospheres – Man Utd vs Liverpool top spot

Premier League fans have voted for the best atmosphere in the league – and it is Manchester United vs Liverpool for top spot.

The 2021/22 season kicks off Friday evening as promoted side Brentford host three-time champions Arsenal.

It will be the first time English top-flight football is played at the Brentford Community Stadium, with a full crowd expected to be cheering the sides on.

But fans are expecting that it will not be the best atmosphere that is experienced during the campaign.

Betfair have compiled results of a pre-season survey asking 1,003 supporters for a variety of predictions via YouGov.

One question being asked for the best stadium to visit – and it was Liverpool’s Anfield that came out on top, the venue which saw Jurgen Klopp’s side life the 2019/20 title.

But they are following in second by Old Trafford, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping United can challenge Manchester City this year.

Pep Guardiola’s team, though, are still the heavy favourites to defend the Premier League as 54 per-cent of fans voted them to lift the trophy.

They could have a test when Liverpool arrive at the Etihad Stadium on October 3, though, with the Anfield faithful voted the noisiest away fans behind Leeds.
