Rangnick blocks Man Utd loan and ‘pair could end up at loggerheads’ after talks

Ralf Rangnick could cause a feud by telling Dean Henderson he cannot leave Manchester United on loan.

Rangnick is preparing for his first transfer window in charge as Red Devils boss and has been forced to make a decision on Henderson's future.

Henderson missed the start of the season after contracting Covid-19 and David de Gea has been one of United's standout performers ever since.

The talented shot-stopper's only outings this season have been in the League Cup and a dead rubber Champions League fixture..

And the 24-year-old is desperate to not stall his development any longer and wants to play regular football.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ajax have already shown an interest in signing the 24-year-old.

But the report claims Rangnick has told Henderson he is going nowhere as he desires three ready and available first-team goalkeepers in his squad.

It is added that the blocking of a potential loan deal could leave the pair at 'loggerheads'.

As well as Ajax, Tottenham are mentioned as a possible suitor for Henderson as they look for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

Henderson is open to leaving United permanently if his dream to become Old Trafford number one cannot materialise.

The England 'keeper expected an opportunity to cement his spot between the sticks before the bout of Covid-19 halted his progress.

And he may be forced to remain even more patient after learning Rangnick is set to deny his request for a temporary move in January.
