RB Leipzig were delighted with the assessment the BT Sport pundits made of their manager Julian Nagelsmann ahead of the club’s comfortable Champions League win over Tottenham Hotspur .
Two goals from Marcel Sabitzer, along with the 1-0 advantage from the first leg win, saw Leipzig progress to the quarter final stage of Europe’s elite competition.
For the club’s 32-year-old manager Nagelsmann, who had been dubbed ‘Mini Mourinho’ during his time as Hoffenheim’s assistant coach, it was a major triumph over an opposite number who has won two Champions Leagues and league titles in four different countries.
Speaking ahead of the game, BT Sport pundits Rio Ferdinand and Glenn Hoddle, as well as presenter Gary Lineker, were full of praise for Nagelsmann.

“What a story! From injury and then turning that into a positive and going on that road and that journey to being a coach,” Ferdinand said.
“You can tell he’s got total belief in his ideas and his philosophies. You can tell he’s a new-age type manager with some of the equipment he’s using on the training ground.
“That’s that tactical awareness that he seems to have and he’s so so confident for a guy so young.
Hugo Lloris slammed by Rio Ferdinand and Glenn Hoddle for Spurs mistakes
“What I love about him is when you see his team, they look like a team that’s a very well oiled machine and understand and know exactly what he wants.
“It’s really, good and exciting to see. That’s why I like watching his team, because of the way he sets them up.”
Hoddle concurred with Ferdinand’s assessment, adding: “They’re well drilled and you can tell that. They are flexible, they can play a diamond shape or go into a four.
