Real Madrid have taken a dim view on Eden Hazard’s behaviour after their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, reports say. The La Liga giants were well-beaten at Stamford Bridge. And pictures of the Belgium international smiling and joking around at full time have seen him come under fire as a result.

Real Madrid went into their match against Chelsea looking to book their place in yet another Champions League final.

Karim Benzema had been a shining light in the first leg, scoring to cancel out Christian Pulisic’s opener.

But Real were played off the pitch by Thomas Tuchel’s side on Wednesday night, with the Blues winning 2-0 on home soil.

Timo Werner headed them in front in the first half, with the Germany international nodding home after Kai Havertz had hit the bar.

And Mason Mount then struck in the closing stages to propel Chelsea through to a first Champions League final since 2012.

After the game, Hazard was snapped joking around with Kurt Zouma.

That saw him condemned by the Spanish press, with many pundits with links to the La Liga titans also venting their fury.

And ESPN claim a Real Madrid insider has slammed Hazard for his actions, saying it was ‘intolerable’ that he showed such an attitude after an elimination.

The same source also criticised the forward for ‘lacking tact’.

And another source said: “Eden has enough experience to not have that attitude when the cameras are on him.”

Hazard has failed to live up to expectations ever since moving to Real Madrid in 2019 and this latest episode has further harmed his career with the club.

Signed as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement, he spent most of last season stuck on the sidelines.

And he’s failed to kick on this term, scoring just two goals and registering one assist from 11 La Liga matches.

Jamie O’Hara has stuck the knife into Hazard, saying on Twitter: “Discussed the Hazard laughing on @TSBreakfast this morning and I have to say it proper angers me seeing players do this, zero respect to the club and the fans, might not mean anything to him but to some it’s everything, get off the pitch don’t talk to anyone and shut up #hazard/“

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was unhappy after the game, admitting Chelsea were deserving of their victory.

“They deserved the victory,” he said.

“We have tried but they’ve deserved it. We have to be proud to have come this far and to congratulate Chelsea.

“If my players have played it’s because they were ready for the 90 minutes. We lacked strength up front, but I’m very proud of my players. Today is a hard moment, but tomorrow we will work again thinking about the next game.”

Tuchel also expressed a belief that Chelsea were deserving of their win.

“We deserved to win,” he told BT Sport.

“The first half was difficult because they had a lot of possession, made us suffer.

“Every ball win from us was dangerous; we never lost the hunger, the desire to defend. Second half was even better structure to defend and we could have scored so much earlier to be safe.

“But no time for criticism – fantastic performance and congratulations to the team.

“Against Real Madrid it’s always dangerous: They can turn nothing into gold.

“Never lose concentration, never lose focus, never lose the positive energy. Huge performance and well deserved. I’m happy, very, very happy that we achieve this.

“I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to live my life in football and this profession. To coach a team like this and to arrive a second time in the final, I’m very grateful.”

Tuchel refused to open up on the upcoming Champions League final again Manchester City, insisting it’s still too early to talk about that game.

“It’s too early; there can be injured players, players out of form. We need to wait and see,” he said.

“Hopefully we arrive with the whole squad, in a good moment and atmosphere. It’s not done yet – we want to arrive in Istanbul to win.”
