- Jose Mourinho’s side could send teenage striker Felix Afena-Gyan the other way

- The Eagles could be willing to sell rather than lose their star forward on a free
Roma and Crystal Palace could reportedly negotiate a shock swap deal for Wilfried Zaha by sending young striker Felix Afena-Gyan in the other direction.
Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the 29-year-old forward, who has just one year left on his contract at Selhurst Park and is almost constantly linked with a move away from Palace.
Eagles manager Patrick Vieira may even be open to selling his most prized asset now instead of him potentially leaving on a free transfer next season.

Zaha has also said on many previous occasions that he wants to play at the highest level, an aim that may soon be beyond him as he approaches 30.
Sportsmail previously reported that Roma have been monitoring the situation with Palace’s star forward.
Roma could be open to negotiate a swap deal that would include teenage striker Felix Afena-Gyan to help get a deal done by offering a replacement, according to Gian Luca DiMarzio.

It would be a huge gamble for Palace to allow the club’s top goalscorer Zaha, who notched 14 goals in the Premier League last season, depart for a yet unproven talent – despite rising up through the ranks in the Serie A last term.
The 19-year-old scored just two goals in 22 appearances for the Giallorossi since making his first-team debut last October.
He has, however, recently penned a new four-year deal with Roma, keeping him at the Italian outfit until the summer of 2026.

Afena-Gyan only joined the Italian club at the start of 2021 and progressed rapidly from their Under-18 side to the senior squad under Mourinho.
The forward made his Ghana debut in March, helping the Black Stars to qualify for this year’s World Cup by overcoming West African rivals Nigeria in a two-legged play-off.
Afena-Gyan has gone on to make a total of six caps for Ghana and notched his first international goal against Madagascar last month.
There is a huge question mark over whether he could realistically replace Zaha in Palace’s attack and the impact he has had in south London over the years.

Zaha began his career with Palace and made such an impression during his early years there that he secured a high-profile move to Manchester United in 2013 in what turned out to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing for the club.
But his time there was short-lived as David Moyes replaced Ferguson and gave Zaha just two league appearances before sending him on loan to Cardiff.
The Ivory Coast international re-joined Palace in 2014 and has remained since, becoming a firm favourite and one of the fans’ most beloved stars.
He has often carried the team with his ability, scoring 83 goals and providing 73 assists in 429 games for Palace.
