Romelu Lukaku has warned Manchester United that they risk undermining their current frontmen if they brings in another striker.
The club are battling against the clock to recruit some new faces in attack following a lacklustre transfer window.
Jadon Sancho has been their No 1 target but with deadline day fast approaching they are now considering alternatives.
Lukaku was offloaded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a year ago but has praised two of his former team-mates – Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.
The Belgian fears a new arrival could hamper their improvements after both players enjoyed their best years in Manchester.
He told The Times : "I hear a lot of people saying, ‘Let’s buy another this, let’s buy another striker, let’s buy that’.
"If you buy another striker what are you going to do with Anthony? Anthony is a good player. He’s young. He’s now being the No 9 at a great club. Last year he scored 23 goals.
"Give him a full season to confirm what he did last year instead of bringing in someone big to disrupt the chemistry in the dressing room.

"They [United] know my view," he said. "The transfer window is still open for a little while. If something happens in or out you will get to know.
