Cristiano Ronaldo once surprisingly defended Andy Ruiz Jr's body when the American-born Mexican squared off with Anthony Joshua in 2019.
Ruiz shocked the boxing world when he beat the undefeated Brit via TKO in the seventh, claiming the unified WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles.
However, Joshua was able to regain his belts in the pair's rematch later on that year.
Ruiz weighed in for the rematch at 283.7lbs (128.7kg), almost 50lbs heavier than his title challenger Joshua.
However, Ronaldo – who is a notorious health freak – defended Ruiz's body when appearing on the Parallel Worlds documentary earlier this year.
“The fight, Ruiz against Joshua – Joshua is top, but the other one is good.
“I talked with my friends and they said, ‘Ah, his body.’
“I said, ‘Listen, the body doesn’t matter. It’s preparation'.”
Ronaldo made headlines over the summer when he snubbed Coca Cola at Euro 2020, instead offering up a water bottle telling the gathered media to drink water.
At 36-years-old Ronaldo is still performing in the upper echelons of the sport.

“We had the opportunity to speak last year in Dubai, I was with Joshua and we had [a] conversation," Ronaldo continued.
“33 years old is that age where you start to feel down.
"I don’t wanna be in the sport, in football, where people say, ‘Cristiano was an unbelievable player and now he’s slow'.
"I don’t want that.
"You can take care a lot of your body, the body’s not a problem I don’t think. It’s here [points to his head], your motivation, experience. I think this is the most tough."
