Tottenham and Newcastle ‘given hope in their bid to sign Inter Milan star Stefan de Vrij’… but Serie A giants do NOT want to let Milan Skriniar leave and will offer him a lucrative new deal

Premier League clubs have been given a transfer boost amid reports that Inter Milan will let talented centre back Stefan de Vrij leave at the end of the season.

The Serie A giants have received interest in both of their best centre backs, De Vrij and Milan Skriniar, but reports in Italy claim that they only have intentions to sit down with one of them to discuss a new deal. write that, with both of their contracts set to expire in June 2023, Inter are planning to sit down with Skriniar but are happy to let De Vrij leave in the summer.

Tottenham and, most recently, Newcastle have been credited with an interest in the Dutch defender, and it has been claimed that the Italian side will ‘sacrifice’ him in a bid to lower their wage bill and allow for some incoming transfers.

He is looked after by the notorious Mino Raiola, and further reports in Italy claim that the super-agent is searching for a Premier League club on behalf of his client.

Skriniar, meanwhile, is expected to sit down with club officials at the start of 2022 to discuss a new contract.

His current €3m-a-year deal expires in June 2023 and it is said he will be offered a lucrative new €4m contract through until June 2025.

Inter have been working hard behind the scenes to tie down some of their more talented players to new contracts.

The likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez, and Nicolo Barella have all put pen to paper on new deals, and it is expected that Skriniar is next on their wish-list.
