Tottenham are reportedly targeting a January move for Wolves winger Adama Traore despite the Spaniard failing to register a single goal or assist all season. Spurs boss Antonio Conte has made it clear he wants reinforcements in the winter transfer window and is hopeful funds will be made available to strengthen his squad.
Conte has done a sterling job since taking over the reigns at Tottenham and is unbeaten in eight Premier League games.
Their upturn in form has given Spurs a strong chance of finishing in the top four, with Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Watford seeing them move to within two points of London rivals Arsenal.
The Italian manager has been promised new signings by Daniel Levy and is identifying players to bring in this month.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Conte and Tottenham transfer chief Fabio Paratici are huge admirers of Wolves star Traore.
Spurs were interested in the powerful winger in the summer but refused to meet Wolves’ £40m demands.

Now, they may revisit the negotiating table in a bid to finally sign the Spain international.
Speaking on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, Romano revealed how highly Traore is rated by Conte and Paratici.
That is despite the forward’s awful stats this season, which has seen Traore go without a single goal or assist in 19 games.
Commenting on Traore, Romano said: “Super-appreciated by Fabio Paratici, super-appreciated. Super-appreciated by Antonio Conte.

“So it’s a name I would monitor. I don’t know if in January he’ll be able to leave Wolves.
“But I’m sure that his name [is on] the list of Tottenham.”
Conte’s Tottenham continued their momentum by edging out Watford on the weekend, but needed a last-gasp winner from Davinson Sanchez to spare their blushes.
And speaking afterwards, Conte again underlined the need for new players.
“We need to talk about new signings, yes. When I was appointed, I was told that we would meet to talk about new signings. Now I have everything clear [on current team],” he said.
Conte also admitted earlier this week that he had decided early on that Tottenham needed to strengthen if his goals were going to be met.
“After only two weeks I said we needed to improve the quality of this squad and for sure we need to,” he said.
“I was sure after seven to 10 days about this and then I had to make the evaluation over who I can count on and who I can’t.
“The gap is very large and we need to work a lot and try to build and improve our squad.”
