The Cheltenham Festival enters its third day after Energumene stole the headlines on day two with a win in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Brighton owner Tony Bloom reportedly won big on his horse after putting on a sizeable amount in the bookies on the morning of the race. Here Express Sport brings you all the best betting tips on day three in the hope that you too can enter the winners’ enclosure.
3.30 The Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle
BLAZING KHAL can turn up the heat in the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle (3.30) on day three of the Cheltenham Festival.
Unbeaten in two appearances at the track, the worthy favourite is pitched into racing’s top tier for the first time. And he will have to be good to halt the hat-trick bid of Flooring Porter, who could etch his name in the history books alongside the likes of Big Buck’s and Inglis Drever.
A decade has passed since trainer Charles Byrnes scooped the feature contest on St Patrick’s Thursday. His 2013 winner Solwhit had a similarly low key warm-up to Blazing Khal, three lengths ahead in his comeback at Navan.
Betting vibes suggested the run would bring him on, while a stop-start prep is not too much of a concern given the shrewdness of his stable.
Flooring Porter, the beneficiary of tactical masterpieces from Danny Mullins, has also encountered a few pre-race interruptions. He has twice finished behind Joseph O’Brien’s runner Home By The Lee this season.
Only sixth 12 months ago, Home By The Lee was a shock 28-1 scorer on home turf first time up, but the eight-year-old proved it was not a flash in the pan by confirming the form with several rivals at Leopardstown over Christmas.
Teahupoo, the betting market’s second choice, heads to Prestbury Park on the back of a 15-length supremacy in the Galmoy Hurdle. It was the manner of his victory, upped to three miles for the first time, which was impressive.
From the rest of the pack, French raider Gold Tweet is nominated as the main danger to Blazing Khal. He made an instant impact in Britain on Festival Trials Day, utilising his turn of foot in the Cleeve Hurdle.

1.30 Turners Novices’ Chase
APPRECIATE IT is expected to give his backers plenty of cheer in the Turners’ Novices’ Chase.
A hot favourite to come good in the Irish Arkle at the Dublin Racing Festival, Paul Townend’s mount held every chance in third.
2.10 Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle
THANKSFORTHEHELP needs little assistance from the handicapper in the Pertemps Final.
Fresh from a six-and-a-half length rout at Chepstow, an 11lb rise is unlikely to anchor him.
2.50 Ryanair Chase
SHISHKIN is ready to erase the memory of his Festival flop last year in the Ryanair Chase.
Back in tip-top condition, Shishkin turned in a creditable return effort in the Tingle Creek, before returning to his brilliant best in the Ascot Chase.
4.10 Magners Plate Handicap Chase
SHAKEM UP’ARRY is taken to better his New Year’s Day fifth place at Cheltenham for his in-form yard. Sent off favourite, Harry Redknapp’s chaser raced on too early and still has a handy rating.

4.50 Jack De Bromhead Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle
Ratings topper LUCCIA is a smart recruit to obstacles for Nicky Henderson and she has hardly scratched the surface.
Quick and economical over her obstacles, Henderson’s charge has a class edge in the Jack de Bromhead Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.
5.30 Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase
This race ideal for BEAUPORT. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ runner landed the Colin Parker on his reappearance, which several winners have come out of.
