Ben Stokes has left current and former England stars in awe after powering an all-time great innings of 99 for his side in the second ODI against India.
Stokes produced some truly memorable innings for England in the 2019 World Cup and in Cape Town in 2016 when he hit a Test double hundred.
But none have come close in the truly dismissive and belligerent batting that came from the all-rounder after reaching his half-century in Pune as England successfully chased 337 with more than six overs to spare to level the three-match series.

Stokes joined Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow in getting to fifty – doing so in 40 deliveries, and at the end of that 32nd over, the tourists were on 218 for one.
But he then decided to launch into a blitzkrieg and he moved his individual score to 99 in the following 11 deliveries in an extremely stunning display of power hitting.
He crashed Kuldeep Yadav for three successive sixes in the 34th over and then also took Krunal Pandya to town from the other end with three more sixes and a four.
Stokes looked unstoppable and destined for a remarkable fourth ODI century but Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed to get him to glove one behind to Rishabh Pant, but with the score 285 for two, the job was all-but done.

Current England seamer Jofra Archer, who is out of the current series with an elbow issue, congratulated his team-mate, adding simply: ‘Deserved a 100’.
