A TAB Queensland Summer Carnival tilt is off the table for rising star Command’n’conquer with the emerging four-year-old sold to Hong Kong.
Trainer-owner Steve Tregea has elected to sell his classy gelding to Lindsay Park and the emerging talent is now set to be trained in the Asian jurisdiction by David Hayes.
Tregea said Lindsay Park had interest in Command’n’conquer for some time before the offers became too good to refuse after his first-up win.
Command’n’conquer made it five wins from seven starts in Australia – with one of those defeats coming in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas in May – when scoring at Doomben on November 7.
The son of Warhead was set to line up at the Sunshine Coast this weekend but has already been sent to NSW to begin quarantine in preparation for his trip overseas.
“They’ve been interested in him for and I wasn’t too keen to see him go but there comes a time when you have to be realistic,” Tregea said.
“He’s a nice horse but you’ve got to let them go from time-to-time.
“They got the deal done pretty quickly.”

Tregea has thrown in a nomination for Sunshine Coast for his Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap placegetter Niccanova.
The son of Nicconi had his first start back in Queensland when finishing sixth in the Listed Keith Noud last Saturday after campaigning under Craig Carmody name through Sydney’s spring carnival due to COVID.
Tregea plans to back Niccanova up seven days later in the $105,000 Sky Racing Mooloolaba Cup (1600m) alongside stablemate Bergerac.
‘That is the plan,” Tregea said.
“He likes the track up there and has won there a couple of times before.
“He goes well on the back up and cleaned his bin after the races last weekend.
“Bergerac is going alright too which just need to keep stepping him up in distance to see where he is at.
“We have taken the blinkers off him.”
Final fields for Saturday’s card will be declared on Wednesday.
