Raceday focus: Best bets, analysis for Bendigo on Thursday

Herald Sun and Racenet form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Thursday’s card at Bendigo.

JOURNALESE (Race 2 No.8 – $2.20)

Journalese chased well when narrowly beaten in heavy ground at Geelong first-up. She’ll be fitter for that and slightly firmer ground will be perfect for her.

RINNOVA (Race 4 No.10 – $2.50)

Rinnova charged home when a close second on debut in February. She’s had a bit more time to develop and should go one better first-up at Bendigo.

ZOUTONS (Race 6 No.15 – $6.50)

Zoutons was scratched from a race at Sandown on Wednesday for this and she looks well suited on her home track. She jumped out well leading up to this and will be hard to beat.

ROANOKE (Race 3 No.8 – $9.50)

Roanoke could be thereabouts on debut after a promising first-up run last time in. She ran on well at Kilmore fresh last prep and could be over the odds for her latest assignment.

The champion jockey heads to Bendigo for five rides, including a couple of promising Godolphin runners.

CEILIDH (Race 1 No.2 – $14), FOUND OUR THRILL (Race 2 No.4 – $4.40), MASHRABIYA (Race 4 No.7 – $7), BARMAH AL (Race 5 No.8 – $8), BRONZBA (Race 8 No.9 – $5).

Geelong will be the scene of Friday’s fixture before Flemington and Moe hold Saturday’s cards. Jumps racing will take centre stage on Sunday with the Mosstrooper Steeple at Pakenham while Echuca also races. Warrnambool will hold a card of flat racing on Monday.
