ROSEHILL

Track: Heavy 9. Rail: +3m

RACE 1: CLEANAWAY HANDICAP (1300M)

Overview: Tycoonist just missed last start but he beat the rest easily enough and he finds another good race here. Rustic Steel has always shown promise and can run well fresh here, while Rock My Wand was too bad to be true when wide last start and has claims at odds.

BETTING ADVICE: Rock My Wand to win.

RACE 2: TAB HIGHWAY (1100M)

Overview: Hellenism is sure to have plenty of admirers back to this grade and she has been pretty good at two runs back. Private Agent’s figures stack up well here and the only knock is I would have liked to have seen a bit more in the recent trial. Anethole put the writing on the wall with a slashing run last start and looks next best.

BETTING ADVICE: Leaning to Private Agent.

RACE 3: THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE HANDICAP (2400M)

Overview: Admit It was a good winner at Warwick Farm last start before weighing in light. He gets in well with the claim here and is very honest. Poulton Le Sands has been building nicely and he is a horse that should appreciate the extra trip. No Compromise will have admirers but the 60kg is a leveller here. Chief Kidder is the best $201 pop I’ve seen in the city for some time.

BETTING ADVICE: Admit It, Poulton Le Sands and Chief Kidder can all run well at odds.

RACE 4: RANVET HANDICAP (1100M)

Overview: Open race. Vreneli did a good job last prep and he is a horse that has trialled well leading into this prep. Sixgun has been racing well without winning this prep and draws a nice gate here. Fastconi, Kinloch and Joviality all have claims, while Ibaraki will need to improve sharply off the debut win.

BETTING ADVICE: Vreneli to win.

RACE 5: MIDWAY HANDICAP (1100M)

Overview: Terrific betting race for the first edition of the Midway. I wish it was 1000m but Nicci’s Song stacks up well on the figures and she has a good fresh record as well. Just Field trialled well after a mishap at the barriers last start while Our Bellagio Miss, Wander and Catapult both have claims as well.

BETTING ADVICE: Nicci’s Song to win.

RACE 6: LYNETTE LAMPHEE MEMORIAL HANDICAP (1500M)

Overview: Open race. New Arrangement was a strong winner fresh and there’s no reason he can’t win again here. Canasta gets some weight relief and will be hard to catch, while Oscar Zulu was super last start. Cisco Bay has to be a winning chance as well.

BETTING ADVICE: Oscar Zulu to win.

RACE 7: QUAYCLEAN HANDICAP (1500M)

Overview: Papal Warrior got the job done in good fashion last start and there’s no reason he can’t win again. La Chevalee should have won last start and just needs luck from the wide draw here to figure, while Bring The Ransom shapes up OK here third up. Titanium Power had excuses last start as well.

BETTING ADVICE: Papal Warrior the horse to beat but Bring The Ransom and Titanium Power have claims at odds.

RACE 8: ACY SECURITIES HANDICAP (1300M)

Overview: Vitesse returned to winning form last start and she is mare that can hold that form for a little while now she has found it. Smart Image closed off well last start and has claims, while Starla is busting to win a race and should appreciate 1300m.

BETTING ADVICE: Vitesse to win.

RACE 9: ELITE SAND AND SOIL HANDICAP (1800M)

Overview: Wicklow has been flying and it’s hard to knock what he has done of late. This is another challenge but there’s no reason he won’t be up to it. Lackeen looked to have the race won last start but a 12/10 from James McDonald on No Compromise stopped that. Criminal Code had excuses last start and also has claims.

BETTING ADVICE: Lackeen and Criminal Code both run well at each way odds.

RACE 10: XXXX HANDICAP (1400M)

Overview: Katalin didn’t handle the wet track last start but this track should be drying. She was dominant prior and she is worth another chance here. Miss Einstein was super fresh and she does like the sting out of the ground. There’s other chances too like Expat and Steel Diamond but I’ll give Katalin another go.

BETTING ADVICE: Katalin to win.
